How to Check and Install Drivers

Please make sure your computer has the required drivers properly installed and configured.
If not, download and install the appropriate driver for your Longer device.

Follow the steps below to confirm whether the driver has been successfully installed on your computer:

 

1) Check the CH340 Driver

A. The required driver for connection may be missing or not installed correctly.
B. For macOS 10.15 or later, installation of the CH340 driver may not be necessary.
C. Download the driver installation package below:

After Installation: Check the COM Port

a . For Windows

1. Use the provided USB cable to connect the machine to your computer.

2.  Download and install the CH340 driver (link above).A system restart may be required during installation.

3. Follow the installation instructions carefully to ensure successful installation.

If any error messages appear during installation, please contact Longer Technical Support.

4. Open Device Manager to confirm that the driver is correctly installed:

 

Right-click on “This PC” → “Manage.”

Select Device Manager, then expand Ports (COM & LPT).

If you can see CH340 listed (e.g., “USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM3)”), your device has been successfully recognized by the computer.

b. For macOS

1. Use the provided USB cable to connect the machine to your computer.

2.Download and install the CH340 driver (link above).A system restart may be required during installation.

3. Follow the installation instructions carefully to ensure successful installation.

If any error messages appear during installation, please contact Longer Technical Support.

4. Restart your computer, then go to:

System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General → Allow

5. Allow the CH340 driver to load.

A system restart may be required—please follow the on-screen instructions.

Reconnect your device. At this point, software such as LaserBurn, LightBurn, or LaserGRBL should be able to detect your device.

If the “Allow” button does not respond, follow the steps below for a manual solution.

Manual Loading (if “Allow” doesn’t work)

Open Terminal from Go → Utilities → Terminal

Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:

sudo kextload /Library/Extensions/usbserial.kext/

Press Enter. If prompted for a password, enter your computer’s user password and press Enter again.

When the command executes successfully, a confirmation message will appear in the Terminal window.
