How to use Lightburn for material parameter testing

When faced with various materials, the parameters provided by the official website may be too dark or too light for you. How can you quickly select the parameters for the effect you need? You can perform a matrix test on LightBurn.

1) Open the matrix interface

Click the LaserTools toolbar and select Material Test

2Matrix parameter settings

Count: Set the number of matrix rows and columns

Param: Set the variables in the X/Y direction [Speed/Power/Interval/Passes].

Min/Max: Set the matrix parameter range

Other parameters can be set in the [00/01/02] below, where Edit Material Setting is for matrix grid parameter setting, Edit Text Setting is for matrix external text parameter setting, and Edit Border Setting is for engraving frame parameter setting.

At the bottom, you can control whether to engrave text or a border.

3Sculpting Matrix

First, check the engraving effect through Preview. If there is any problem, use Frame to patrol the edge. If it is too large or too small, you can adjust it through the Height and Width in the previous section. After confirming that everything is correct, click Start to engrave.

Observe the engraving results and select the parameters you need. You can also amplify the engraving effect of a certain area by narrowing the gap between min and max to obtain a more detailed engraving effect.
