Lightburn has a learning curve, but the engraver is easy to control and with a little adjustments, this is my first attempt, on cherry no less.
Took a second to get the settings down. But works and does the job expected.
The laser on my first engraving was awesome. Uploaded an image to gbrl and off i went. Now to learn more about placement and the finer details

Everything finally arrived. It was package beautifully and organized compared to the one i purchased fromAmazon. All the setup tools were labeled. I have gotten to the point of engraving the logo and the flower on the flash drive. It came out really good. I can't wait to really start using it for my projects. More to come!

The kit went together with ease, the instructions were easy to follow and understandable, The SD card to usb adapter should be the first thing to open on your computer it has all the manuals and setup help and some test g codes to try out You will have to set the home zero at your desired location if you have moved the cutter gantry by hand I didn’t set the home zero and the gantry moved to the location my g code had told it to go to, But this was my first attempt and I soon figured out that it was my mistake There is a helpful guide to what settings for different materials I missed this and my video shows it cutting 3mm basswood in two passes, Since then I found the guide and have found it will cut the 3mm basswood in one pass at 100% and 350 on speed The air assist definitely helps to give clean and nice precise cuts I’m very happy with it, I will probably be purchasing the longer bed rails to cut longer parts I live in UK and delivery was without issue,I did have a small Uk customs VAT bill to pay but that was just short of £30 I was kept informed from purchase to delivery I was a bit sceptic before I ordered but all was good no issues at all Congratulations to Longer for providing such a great service
Don't advertise that this can be upgraded if the wiring harness dosent not fit. There's no support information on your website for the newer model with air assist. Tried installing a 20w laser, when I saw the wires didn't match up i wired the 10w back up. Now my screen dosent work. I was told to flash the screen independently. Hook it up to the computer and get a power surge warning. I've tried different cables 4 different computers and nothing, same error message. How do I get my money back ?

Started out with a Ray5 10w ,later bought the Ray5 20w. Both great machines. I have different jobs going at the same time. I'm just a hobbyist and got into this after retirement. I've had a blast at craft shows and made a lot of acquaintances and met some really nice folks. Right now I'm doing ceramics and wood items. Started with 4x4 tiles and now doing 6x6. Will be doing 12x12 tiles starting sometime this spring. Longer has been great in answer any question and providing any support that I've needed.
There was a learning curve but once I got it figured out I spent all weekend engraving stuff... very fun

Overall is much more than worth the money, you can create stunning artworks, personalize things and much more. Just make sure to tighten conveyor straps and all three nuts (including the one on y axis) properly and clean the protective lens every few jobs (really easy, Longer has a how to video). The downsides I noticed so far are basically a problem of all laser engravers, namely: - the smell when cutting/engraving any type of wood (it lingers, you have to put varnish on top and let it air out), even with an enclosure it fills the room; - finding laser safe materials (as e.g. most plywoods, MDF and HDF contain glues that do not meet E0 standards, meaning they continue releasing toxic fumes for 2-3 years after laser cutting/engraving) - finding the right settings for different materials - it is really easy to start a fire especially with paper/cardboard - watching the job - you should not look into the beam even with protective glasses on, but you still need to watch the job in case of fire. I am using a small baby camera in the enclosure to keep watch, you can use the engraver USB camera (the one you can buy for better positioning of engravings) to watch from Lightburn as well, but the cables are quite short - the time it takes to finish a job - almost all the videos you find on the internet are sped up, I have a 10W version with air assist and the piece on the photo took a bit over hour to cut out Therefore if you want to buy a laser engraver I would definitely suggest this one from Longer (maybe even the 20W version to speed things up) with at least a honeycomb mat and air assist. It definitely gives you the most bang for your bucks out of all the engravers on the market.

Bought this to create the cut the pieces my daughter needs to create her models for her architecture studies. Did cut some walls yesterday for a tower building in some sort of wood cardboard of 2mm. Just the look on her face when I showed the result was already worth all of the money. I'm excited to see what other stuf we can create with this amazing tool. I'll post some pictures of the model as soon as it's completely finished.

A few little bugs, but nothing I would have any complaints about. It's my first laser and im excited everyday to see what I can do next. I have only done raw basswood so far and im looking forward to using ceramic tile and canvas next. All in all its a great solid built laser, and will soon upgrade to a 20 watt laser head just to up my cutting depth. I would recommend this laser to any beginner laser enthusiasts. Very easy to operate and set up, and the learning curve with a few YT videos is very small.

First time laser owner and I am in love!!! I am really enjoying this machine. It is easy to assemble and easy to use. It dose so much more then expected. I would recommend a Ray 5 to anyone who is looking for a laser. I am going wood cutting crazy. So many things can be done. Can’t wait to see what else this machine can do!
I have a longer ray5 5w machine and love it. I had 3 different lazer machine had trouble with each one. till I got ray5 it's the best work we'll right out of the box I would recommend it to friends and family. Now I working on the longer ray5 20w lazer or 10w on a fixed income mite take a few months to save for it but I'll get it maybe with some help it be sooner!! Thank you longer ray5 your the best!!

I have had my Ray5 10w for a week and have made metal business cards, engraved photos on wood, cut out several projects like a butterfly and an Our Father cross. This is my first time using a laser and am finding working with it and Lightburn software extremely easy. There are many youtube videos for both products and I am glad I did my research before purchasing both. There are many laser is excellent value and easy to use.

Just starting out and learning. Like how everything was packaged and labeled for assembly. The only thing I could find was any info on the screen what settings do what. I had to figure that out on my own.
This is my first laser, and I went with the 10watt to get a little more capability and I'm glad I did. I also got the air add on, but I'm not sure it made much of a difference. I just added an exhaust system, and that made a huge difference. It didn't make a difference in the performance, but it did a great job of evacuating the smoke and smell from the shop. So if you're looking for upgrades, make sure you plan for an exhaust. The machine is easy to put together and easy to use. I've been using Lightburn software, and really like it. All in all, very happy with the purchase.
I bought the Longer Ray 10 watt for nothing more than to engrave my logo on items I turned on my lathe but that quickly changed. I soon found out how much I enjoyed working with the laser and all the things I could make. I, now, spend more time on the laser than the lathe and have been saving for the B1 30 watt. I guess you could say that I'm hooked on laser engraving. Thanks Longer for a quality prodcuct at an affordable price. I can't wait to finally have the B1 30 in my arsenal.
I can't believe I have waited so long to venture into the laser world! Being a leather and wood worker, the laser engraver is an awesome addition to my tool collection. At this point I have engraved slate, wood and leather and the absolute ease of the longer in unmatched. If all goes well with sales, I see another Longer RAY 5 being added to the light brigade!

I didn’t know anything about lasers and this ray 5 10watt was super simple to assemble and start burning. Still learning the laser burn software and settings. The ray 5 seems to be very well made. I have only used it for about a week but works perfect every time I turn it on.
It is a great lasercutter and engraver. It's easy to assemble and easy to use. I will have a lot of fun with it :-)
