Connecting your Longer laser cutter and engraver to the LaserBurn APP is essential for seamless wireless control, material parameter adjustments, and efficient workflow. However, users may occasionally encounter WIFI connection problems. This guide provides step-by-step troubleshooting instructions, professional tips, and best practices to ensure a stable connection between your mobile device and your Longer laser cutter and engraver.
Outdated versions of LaserBurn may contain bugs or compatibility issues that prevent WIFI discovery. To ensure smooth operation:
Open Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS).
Search for LaserBurn.
Download or update to the latest version.
The LaserBurn APP requires permission to access your device’s location to detect the WIFI network of your Longer laser cutter and engraver.
When prompted “Allow LaserBurn to access this device’s location?”, select “Allow Only While Using the App”.
If you previously selected “Deny”, go to Settings → Apps → LaserBurn → Permissions and enable location access.

If the APP cannot find the LongerLaser_XXXX WIFI network:
Open LightBurn (or the machine’s network settings) and locate the macro definition button.
Click “AP” to switch the network mode on the laser cutter.
Rescan the WIFI list in the LaserBurn APP.

In STA mode, the laser cutter and your mobile device must connect to the same router.
Only 2.4G WIFI is supported; 5G WIFI is not compatible.
Confirm that both devices are connected to the same network and subnet.
Weak signals can prevent connection or cause intermittent drops:
Move your Longer laser cutter and engraver closer to the router.
Reduce physical obstructions such as walls or metal surfaces.
Consider using a stronger router or a WIFI extender if necessary.
Ensuring a stable connection between your Longer laser cutter and engraver and the LaserBurn APP requires up-to-date software, proper permissions, and a strong WIFI environment. By updating the APP, enabling location access, resetting the WIFI, confirming both devices are on the same 2.4G network, and maintaining good signal strength, you can quickly resolve connection issues. Following these steps ensures smooth wireless operation, consistent engraving performance, and minimal downtime, whether you are a hobbyist or a professional fabricator working with any Longer laser cutter and engraver.
