Easily Remove Engraving Residue from Wood - LONGER

If you've ever run your laser at low speed and high power, you've seen the results - sticky sap and varnish covering the areas you've already engraved. We wanted to share a product we've found that quickly cleans up all of that extra residue, leaving a clean, crisp engraving.

Using a common and easily accessible hand soap, we'll show you how to quickly and easily remove wood residue from any project. Additionally, the product we're using for this project is a biodegradable, waterless, petroleum solvent-free hand cleaner that contains neither harsh chemicals, mineral oils nor ammonia.

You'll need:

  1. Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner(available at any home improvement store.)

  2. Soft-bristle brush.

  3. Paper towels or cloth.

  • Begin by placing a small amount of cleaner on the brush. Then, gently scrub the area until it is free of residue.
  • When your project is residue free, simply wipe away any excess dirt and debris with a slightly damp paper towel.
  • And there you have it - a quick, effective and "green" way to remove stubborn wood residue from laser cutting and engraving projects.
