No Laser Output During Framing — Nano Troubleshooting

During framing, the laser is typically used as a visual guide to outline the working area. If no laser output is observed during this process, it is usually due to basic setup or configuration issues rather than hardware failure.

The following are the most common causes and corresponding solutions.

1. Lens Cover Not Removed

Before operating the machine, ensure that the protective lens cover has been removed from the laser module.

If the cover is still in place, the laser beam will be blocked, making it appear as if there is no laser output.

To resolve this issue:

  • Check the laser head for any protective cover
  • Remove the lens cover before starting framing or engraving

This is a common oversight, especially for new users or after maintenance.

2. Laser Not Enabled

When using LightBurn, click the top menu button and enable the “Laser on when framing” option, then click OK.

Conclusion

No laser output during framing is typically caused by a remaining lens cover or a disabled software setting. By ensuring that the protective cover is removed and the appropriate option is enabled in the software, users can restore normal framing functionality.

Proper setup and configuration checks before operation help ensure accurate positioning and a smoother engraving workflow.
