For some beginner of 3D printer user, they don't know how leveling. in this article, we going to tech you how leveling 3d printer before printing. and our Lk5 pro 3d printer suitable for new 3d printer user, if you interested, could have a look. 

Before leveling, you need to make sure that your limit switch is installed correctly: Manually lower the hot end to just touch the print bed. Then loosen the fixing screw of the limit switch. Adjust the limit switch to the position just triggered.

Next, power on the printer. Heat the hot bed to 60 degrees (because of thermal expansion and contraction. There may be errors in leveling when it is cold).

Please prepare a piece of A4 paper.

Then select the leveling mode on the touch screen. Press the buttons in sequence. Every time when the hot end stops. Feel the distance between the nozzle and the print bed through A4 paper. Slowly adjust the leveling knob under the print bed. When you just feel the friction, it means that the distance between the nozzle and the printing bed is just right.

After adjusting the leveling knobs at the 4 corners of the print bed. Press the "5" button. Use A4 paper to feel the friction in the center of the print bed. If it feels inappropriate, please repeat the steps just now.

Speed 

One of the main advantages of 3D printing is that the production speed of parts is more efficient compared to traditional manufacturing methods. Models with complex designs can be exported from the software and produced using a 3D printer within a few hours. The advantage of this is that the design ideas can be quickly verified and iterated.

In the past, it may take days or even weeks to manufacture prototypes through traditional processing methods, while designers can obtain models within a few hours through 3D printing. Although more industrial 3D printers take longer to print and post-process parts, the ability to produce functional final parts in small and medium batches provides a huge time-saving advantage compared to traditional manufacturing techniques (usually for hand-offs). The delivery time is advanced, and a separate injection mold may take several weeks).

Spend

Manufacturing costs can be divided into three categories: machine operating costs, material costs and labor costs.

Machine operating cost: Most household 3D printers consume power similar to a computer. Industrial 3D printing technology may consume more electricity to produce individual parts. However, the ability to generate complex geometries in just one step can lead to higher efficiency and turnover. Machine operating costs are usually the lowest contribution to the total cost of manufacturing.

Material cost: The material cost of 3D printing varies by technology. Household FDM printers 1KG Filament about $20, as Longer PLA Filament, free ship from our local warehouse to Euro, USA and Russia

Labor cost: One of the main advantages of 3D printing is the lower labor cost. Except for post-processing, most 3D printers only need one or two operators. The machine then follows a fully automated process to produce the parts. Compared with traditional manufacturing, which usually requires skilled machinists and operators, the labor cost of a 3D printer is almost zero.

Compared with the traditional manufacturing process, the cost of small batch 3D printing is very competitive. For the production of prototypes for verification of shape and assembly, it is much cheaper than other alternative manufacturing methods (such as injection molding) and is generally competitive in manufacturing disposable functional parts. With the increase in production, traditional manufacturing technology will become more cost-effective, so 3D printing is an important supplement to traditional manufacturing.

Reduce potential risks

If you accidentally make a defective prototype, it will waste the designer's time and money. The use of traditional mold processing and manufacturing methods, even small changes, may bring huge financial expenses (high mold opening costs).

People can verify the design by printing prototypes that can be used for production before purchasing expensive manufacturing equipment (such as molds or tooling and fixtures), thereby eliminating the risk in the prototyping process. This helps to verify the feasibility of the project through trial and error at low cost of 3D printing before the large investment required for large-scale production.

Complexity and design freedom

Traditional manufacturing methods have relatively high restrictions on the products that can be manufactured. Design requirements such as draft angle, undercut and tool entry are not suitable.

For 3D printing, there may be some restrictions on the minimum size features of accurate printing, but in most cases, the main limitation is how to optimize the printing direction to reduce the support dependence and the possibility of printing failure. This provides designers with a lot of design freedom and allows very complex geometric shapes to be easily created.

Hey, finally, the Orange 4K Color 3d printers are on set for shipment. 

• Orange 4K Color Shipment

We are sorry for the whole project in delayed, the 4K Color printers will be shipped to our US/Euro warehouse first, in this case, each backers won't be charged by import tax and Euro backers won't be charged VAT either. The rest backers will be shipped accordingly by backer number by express. We will update with tracking number by email.

Please note that, the printers are all packed with standard one, some add-on spare parts will be shipped seperately from China. And we will email with tracking number to backers as well. 

• Orange 4K Mono 3D Printer

As plan, the mono screen will be arrived around the end of April, but I think we will get them earlier than expected, because we got the feedback from our supplier, the schedule of production will be ahead about one week. Anyway, we will keep update on this. 

We'd like to share images printed by 4K Mono, it's ameralabs testing model, printed by Orange 4K Mono, and washable resin in 50um. It's not in perfect of printing parameter, and we will print with our new standard uv resin (Deep Peach Color), of which will be with better performance.

We are sorry for the delayed update on this project, everything is still processing, the 4k color screen has been back to our factory after recover the screen, this procedure has taken a long time to finish, because we need to peel off the previous cover very carefully and then recover again to lcd screen. They ware arrived in our factory yesterday night. 

•  Orange 4K Color Printer Shipment part 1 

We shipped out 21 units before our Chinese New Year holidays to our warehouse, this dispatched is the very first production we made and selected. We will ship the printers as backer number as following today, for sure, the compensation resin will be shipped together: 

•  Orange 4K Color printer shipment part 2 

The Oraneg 4K color printer will be finished assembly and testing around the end of March or the beginning of April, after that, we will ship them out to our warehouses first, then to dispatch to each backers. Moving in this way, each backer won't be charged by import tax or VAT (Euro backer, but not included UK now). We will update the pictures when the 4K printer is on our production lines and ready for shipment. 

•  4K Mono LCD Screen 

Now we are still waiting the mono screen on production, in plan, they will be launched for production next Tuesday and we will get them around  10th-15th of April after they are inspected. 

• Orange 4K Mono Printer Shipment

After we get the mono screen, the 4K Mono printer will be on set for production. The printer will be started for shipment around the end of April. 

•  Issues we resolved-Reboot Randomly 

We improved the isolation on board, connecting cables and the grounding between board and metal case in the defective printers, they perform better than before after 72 hours testing, and didn't reboot again. 

•  Issues we resolved-Cooling Fan 

After two weeks aging test, we have changed the cooling fan as a higher rotating one with more stable speed.

Thanks for ordering the Orange 4K Color, while we are still working on the project. Now there's some news on the project to update.

• Reboot randomly in aging test

When we assembled the first production printers, we took 80 units for aging test, since 28th Dec. to 20th Jan., and we found there're 7 units were restart during testing without any reason. And there're 3 units were reboot with white screen and error. 

While it's not in regular happened, we are still working on this issue to figure out the solution. It majory related with the mainboard, and we are changing some resistance and capicity to test again. 

• Cooling fan issue

When in aging test more than 10 days, we found 5 printers were with abnormal temperature warning, with carefully checking and testing, we found the ratation speed of cooling fan is somehow decreased the speed after a long time working. We found this issue at 9th, then changed for new one with higher rotating speed. With 5 days testing, it's still in normal. 

The temperature warning issue will be test for another 10 days, if this issue is gone, we will change all the fan inside the printer. 

•  LCD screen issue 

Before running with production of printer, the lcd screen were inspected by our IQC first, if the intensity of illumination is not reaching our standard, it will be take out for negative. When we assemble around 100 units from our production line, and put for aging test for 80 units totally. However, we found there're 9 units LCD screen is defective with problem, even it's normal to show and print at first. 

We changed drive board and checked the mainboard, all is ok. At first we thought it should be light sources problem and also asked our supplier for new one last week, and we got it to test immediately, but the problem is still there. 

We changed the new LCD screen for aging test again, we probably define it's the LCD screen issue.  We drove to our supplier factory and consulted with them to seek for solution, and we thought is might be the problem of manufacturing procedure. 

Worked with our supplier and analyzed together, the first reason we found is that there's some tiny gap between screen and cover, resin or humidity causing corrosion of the ITO connection area and making abnormal electrical signal conduction. Make it easy to say, the isolation is not so good as we expected. There's a ratio of lcd screen work in abnormal after a long time printing.

The solution is we are working with our supplier to remake the cover for lcd screen with better sealing glue and more strict precedure on covering. The lcd screen will be collected again and send them to our supplier to inspect again to check the tiny gap for better sealing.

• Shipment & Chinese New Year holidays

We will be in Chinese new year holiday since 6th Feb. to 20th Feb., many of our suppliers are with the same or even longer holidays than us. Now we have several issues to be resolved and some issues need time for testing as well. 

Discuss with our R&D team carefully, we still hold for the shipment of 4K Color printers (even we has assembled for 100units), because we are still facing the obstacle of the lcd screen defetive and reboot issue, we need to make sure the mass production is under our QC standard and come with no issues. 

Considering the supply period from our suppliers, the shipping date of Orange 4K color printer need to postpone to around the beginning of March.  We are so sorry for the delayed but we are still working on it.

• Compensation

Because the promised is delayed, some backers should expect to get the printer earlier, but finally, it's delayed. We will provide 2 bottles 1KG standard UV resin for each Orange 4K Color backer for free as compensation. 

• 4K Mono Screen

The 4K mono screen is still waiting for schedule on production, as plan, the mono screen will be produced at March.

We apology for the delayed again, and we are always pushing our R&D team to resolve the issue ASAP, however, we have to make the hard decision to hold the printers for late shipment again to make sure to the issues will be resolved first.
